Dear vadilo and gnati bandhu,
Namaste,
First of all let me wish you a very happy 2010 and hope this year brings joy, prosperity and hope for everyone. Looking back at the past year, I feel 2009 was more challenging. With some of us losing our jobs and some of us having our hours cut, the overall economic condition was not favourable as we are still finding ourselves digging out of a hole. However, the overall financials already look better and Canada is in a comparatively stronger position to turn the economy around with new jobs and a better future.
At MGM, we did it again and donated Rs.100,000 to our Education Nidhi in India and I am happy to announce that total for the Nidhi is now Rs.200,000, the interest of which is helping the needy children in their education. I would like to thank every one of you for helping in this worthy cause at our Diwali programme.
As we are already into the third month of the new year, I am excited to say we have an excellent set of events lined up for our members during spring and summer. Starting with our Mahila Mandal, they just had an exciting meeting at Rameshbhai’s home and it was a great success. They are also planning a Samuh Yagna in April at a temple, details of which are provided in this newsletter. Bowlerama is happening again in March this year and I would like to invite all of you to join us in this exciting event. Our popular Casino trip is being organised and more details will follow by e-mail. So, look out for that.
