Mochi Gnati Mandals 25th Anniversary and Diwali Celebration is on October 28th, 2006.
We hope that all of you are as excited as we are for this event!
Look forward to a spectacular night filled with great cultural items, delicious food, lots of dancing, masti, and some special surprises! In addition, one student from our samaj will be receiving a $1000 scholarship for their hard work and dedication towards their academic career. Note that the number of scholarships being awarded was reduced from 2 to 1 due to the number of applications received. Good luck to all who have applied! Also, if you have not already done so, please get your tickets for this event from your area representatives soon, as tickets will not be sold at the door. Tickets are limited will be distributed on a first come first serve basis. We encourage all of our members, family and friends to come out and celebrate, not only because this will be a memorable night, but because we have accomplished 25 wonderful years together and our celebration will be incomplete without everyone present!
At last years Diwali Program, we held a fundraiser for the Mamta Mandir, the Elderly Centre, and the Marriage Bureau in Navsari,India. This year, we would like to continue to raise money but for a different initiative. As you may know, a terrible flood hit Surat, as well as much of India, and has left substantial destruction. For our 2006 fundraising project, we would like to raise money for victims of the Surat flood. We have faith in our community and are certain that we will pull together once again as a team to help those who are in need. Please donate generously.
In GKA News, the committee is looking for candidates to fill the position of Vice President, and they want that someone to be from Canada, preferably Ontario! This position is open to everyone in our community, so if you are interested in applying to be Gujarati Kshatriya Mahasabha’s next Vice President, please contact myself or the GKA President, Mahendrabhai Solanki, for details.
Last but not least, I would like to congratulate our new Mahila Mandal Committee for joining the team! Thank you to Santaben Dhirajlal Amalsadia the new Mahila President, Aruna Dilip Arya, the new Secretary and their assistants for coming forward and taking on the Mahila Mandal responsibilities. Your initiative is greatly appreciated and we would like to wish you all the best for the next term!
Again, it would be an honor to see all of our MGM Members present at our 25th Anniversary and Diwali Celebration! We encourage you to purchase your tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappoint. Ticket details can be found inside this newsletter. We look forward to commemorating our 25 years together!!!
Wishing you all a very happy Diwali and a prosperous new year!
