Our long awaited Ladies Night Potluck
Dinner was a great success held on Saturday September 13th. We enjoyed culinary
delights of all kinds, great company, great spirit and a wonderful night all
round. In all, the attendance was around 80 people !! Thank you all for your
spirited support.
There were two main objectives for
this Mahila get together. First, to build a relationship, rapport and recognition
between families, especially now that we have so many new members. And second,
to establish a MAHILA MANDAL as our community is growing rapidly and there is
a true need now to focus on samaj seva. Both were achieved successfully, following
an open and very enthusiastic discussion. Every one of our ladies had the opportunity
to introduce themselves to all. Our vadeel members too participated actively
and proudly. An overwhelming majority voted for the set up of this Mahila Mandal
with various offi cers taking on responsibilities for its management
Our vision for Mahila Mandal:
• To be an extension of our MGM Committee and to support and participate
actively.
• To promote SAMUHA SHAKTI in action for the interests of all generations
of our community.
• To encourage learning through classes in language, arts and other workshops.
We have an excellent resource of
talent to draw from.
I am proud to report that with all
the excitement, enthusiasm and generosity of the ladies who attended we raised
just over $200 dollars. I am sure that this is just the beginning of some exciting
times ahead. At this point, allow me to introduce and congratulate our new committee
of the Mahila Mandal.
