Casino Rama Trip 2008

Imagine a bus full of excited people on their way to Casino Rama and suddenly they
have to turn back because of a horrible accident on the highway 400. That is exactly
what happened to 56 eager and enthusiastic members of MGM on April 19th 2008.
However, we got home safely but without ever reaching the destination. The
enthusiasts were disappointed, the pessimists were relieved and the realists were
kind of neutral.
We jumped on the bus again on June 7th and with 52 people on
board and on this beautiful sunny day we made our way to the place
where the machines are constantly ringing the sweet music. Snacks
were handy on the bus courtesy of Shantaben Amalsadia, that
everyone enjoyed with chutney. Bottled water was provided by Anu
Arya. Having sorted everyone through the line ups at the front
counters for player’s card administration, we hurriedly got on the floor when the slot
machines started to gobble our money at giant speed. We stood there wondering
where our cash had disappeared! Luckily couple of us had our stars aligned to win
some cash, nothing big, perhaps just enough to pay the mortgage for the month.
Then of course everyone was hungry but wait, we were all given the buffet voucher.
Despite long line ups at the Chinese and Canadian restaurants we all were able to fill
the trough. Any remaining loose change was again left to the mercy of the slot
machine as a last desperate effort. It was a straight eight hours of fun and enjoyment.
